What if my Recording Doesn't Appear?

If your recording doesn't appear (the Download and Listen buttons are not showing), the first thing to do is "DON'T PANIC".






After you terminate your call, your recording has to go through a processing phase.  From the time you Terminate your call, it may take up to one hour for the recording to be available.  The longer the runtime of the recording, the longer this processing phase takes.



If you find that your episode is still not available after one hour, it may be that TalkShoe is experiencing a heavy amount of use and the recording may take longer than usual to appear.




If you find it still has not appeared within three hours after terminating the call,
contact us at support@talkshoe.com or Submit a Help Ticket (will open in a new tab).


In your email or in the Help Ticket, please tell us:
  • Your Recording has failed to appear
  • Your Call Series ID
  • The Episode Number or Episode Title of your episode
  • The scheduled start time of the recording that is missing


TalkShoe will look into the matter and get back to you as soon as possible.



Local Recording
On the extreme rare occasion TalkShoe cannot retrieve your file, if you made a Local Recording, you can upload that to take the place of the missing recording.

It is also possible the host may have forgotten to click the "Start" Record button, in which case a recording was never made by the host.  A Local Recording can save the day here as well.






Steps to Take
1. If you are signed in to the TalkShoe website with your hosting account on the TalkShoe website, skip ahead to step 4.

Otherwise, go to http://www.talkshoe.com (will open in a new tab).



 
2. Click the "Sign-In" button at the top right corner of the website.






 
3. Enter your user name and password, then click the white "Sign-In" button below.










 
4. If you are already on your TalkShoe call series page with the episode you want to upload a local recording to, skip ahead to step 6; otherwise click the white "myTalkShoe" button.






 
5. From the list of Call Series, click on the call series title that has the episode that you want to hide.

 
6. On the call series page, find the episode that you want to hide.


 
7. Click the "OPTIONS" button.









 
8. In the popup menu, click "UPLOAD".












 
9. On the next screen, click "Choose File".  Find the file that you edited on your computer.  On the next screen, click "Choose File".  Find the file that you are uploading from your computer.  Choose it.  Then click "Upload Recording".




 
10. A message will appear stating to be patient as the recording uploads.


 
You must stay on this screen until you receive the next message:

Click "Back to Call Series".


The edited episode has now successfully uploaded and replaced the missing recording.
The edited episode is being processed by TalkShoe and should appear within one hour.
